Where Artistry and Intention Meet
In a light-filled jewelry studio in Providence, Rhode Island, couples are discovering a new way to say I do, by forging their own wedding rings.
Created by metalsmith Rhonda Dudek, founder of Figs & Ginger, the Forged in Love workshop invites partners to step behind the bench and craft two custom rings from recycled silver or gold. Every hammer mark becomes a part of their story.
From Heirloom Maker to Experience Creator
After nearly two decades creating sustainable jewelry for clients around the world, Rhonda wanted to give couples something deeper than a finished piece — a memory they could feel in their hands.
“When couples make their rings together, it becomes a ritual. It’s not just jewelry; it’s a symbol of their partnership, shaped by both of them.”
Each private session lasts about four to five hours and includes one-on-one guidance, all materials, and locally sourced treats from Providence favorites. Guests leave that same day with finished rings — and a video and photo collection documenting the process.
An Intimate Rhode Island Experience
Nestled in the historic Cathedral Arts Building in Olneyville, the studio glows with warm brick walls, sunlight, and the scent of small-batch coffee roasted next door.
Couples have already traveled from across New England and beyond to experience this hands-on alternative to traditional ring shopping. It’s part workshop, part ceremony — and entirely unforgettable.
Sustainable, Symbolic, and Made Together
Each workshop uses SCS-certified recycled precious metals and sustainable practices. Couples can choose sterling silver or 18k gold, and personalize their rings with textures, inscriptions, or a subtle curve for stacking with engagement bands.
