Couple’s Ring-Making Workshop at Figs & Ginger. Providence, Rhode Island
Looking for a truly unforgettable wedding or anniversary experience?
Our Couple’s Ring-Making Workshop invites you to spend a magical day together in our Providence, Rhode Island studio, crafting your own custom rings in a private, guided session with metalsmith Rhonda Dudek, who has over 20 years of experience creating heirloom jewelry.

Couples travel from across New England and beyond (our last pair came all the way from Columbus!) to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Do I Need Any Experience?
Not at all. You’ll receive step-by-step, one-on-one instruction from Rhonda, a professional artist with nearly two decades of metalsmithing experience. No prior artistic skill or jewelry background required. Just bring your love story, she’ll guide you through every moment.

What’s Included in Your Ring-Making Experience
Private Instruction
Enjoy 4–5 hours in our enchanting studio, where you’ll design and create two custom band-style rings together. You’ll have the studio entirely to yourselves for an intimate, uninterrupted experience.

Memories & Keepsakes
Your day will be professionally documented with digital photos (both candid and posed), a short video of your process, and a beautiful copper practice project to take home, your first creation at the jeweler’s bench.

Your Finished Rings
Leave with two stunning, handmade rings that you designed and crafted yourselves, along with the memories of making them side by side.

Custom Extras
Your rings will be presented in a personalized walnut ring box engraved with your initials. Additional custom details and upgrades are available upon request.

Deluxe Treats
Enjoy a locally curated charcuterie breakfast board or lunch, small-batch coffee roasted right next door, and a celebratory toast to close your day. Non-alcoholic options available.

What Will the Rings Look Like?
Your rings will be timeless, minimal, and personal — designed to reflect your style and story. Choose from textured, matte, brushed, or polished finishes, with optional hand-stamped inscriptions or gentle engagement-style curves.

All metals used are SCS-Certified Recycled Precious Metals, ethically sourced and nickel-free, so you can wear your rings with pride and comfort.

Available Materials

  • Sterling Silver (included in workshop price)

  • 18k Yellow Gold (upgrade *starting* around $600–$2,000+ per ring depending on size and thickness, and daily marketethically refined in the U.S.)

Can I Propose During the Workshop?
Absolutely. Many guests plan surprise proposals during their sessions, and we’re always thrilled to help make those moments extra special. We can capture video of the big moment and add custom touches — just let us know your plans ahead of time so we can prepare.
Do We Leave With Our Rings?
Yes! You’ll walk out the same day with your finished rings, beautifully packaged and ready to wear (or reveal), and your practice projects.
Add-On Options
We can personalize your experience with laser-engraved keepsakes, signage, or custom details created right here in the studio. Just let us know what you have in mind — additional fees may apply.
What to Wear
You’re welcome to dress up for photos, but please keep safety and comfort in mind:

  • Closed-toe shoes are required.

  • Wear something with sleeves that roll up easily.

  • Tie back long hair for soldering or polishing.

  • Avoid loose jewelry or clothing.

  • We’ll provide aprons to keep you clean (but white outfits aren’t recommended).

Many guests wear casual dresses or date-night outfits, Rhonda usually wears dresses, too!

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • Deposit: 50% of your total is non-refundable and due at booking. This covers material costs and locks in your metal pricing, which can fluctuate daily.

  • Cancellations Over 2 Months in Advance: You’ll receive a refund for your remaining balance (minus the deposit).

  • Cancellations Within 2 Months: Non-refundable unless your date is rebooked. If we fill your spot, you’ll receive 50% back.

  • Rescheduling: You may reschedule without penalty, or apply your payment toward custom jewelry crafted by Rhonda.

    Location
Our studio is located inside the Cathedral Arts Building in the heart of Olneyville, Providence, Rhode Island:

Figs & Ginger Studio
25 Manton Ave, Providence, RI 02907
Look for the large Cathedral Arts Building sign facing the street.
Accessibility
Our current studio is located on the second floor of a historic mill building and is not ADA-compliant (stairs only). We understand how limiting that can be and plan to find a fully accessible space in the future.
Inclusivity
Figs & Ginger is proudly LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and QTBIPOC friendly.

Our studio is a safe and welcoming space for all couples who want to celebrate their love through creativity and connection.
Mask Policy
Masks are optional. Rhonda is happy to wear one upon request, and fresh N95s are available for polishing as needed.
Additional Notes
Please note that our building is shared with other working artists, so you may occasionally hear ambient sounds from neighboring studios. We play music during sessions, which keeps the atmosphere relaxed and inspiring.
