Micro Weddings & Artisan Elopements with Ring Making Ceremonies
Created for couples of all kinds dreaming of something more magical than a courthouse ceremony, and more intimate and personal than a traditional wedding venue, Forged in Love blends metalsmithing, storytelling, celebration, and artistry into an experience that feels deeply romantic, creative, and entirely your own.
Especially beloved by creative couples, artists, makers, musicians, and crafters, Forged in Love invites guests to become part of the experience itself, creating something meaningful together rather than simply watching from the sidelines.
Inside the flower-filled studio, surrounded by dried botanicals, warm brick walls, art works-in-progress, glowing windows, vintage tools and vinyl records, couples and their closest loved ones are invited to slow down and create lasting heirlooms together.
Part intimate ceremony, part hands-on experience, Forged in Love transforms the act of making your rings into part of the story itself, a memory woven into the metal, and your hearts, forever.
No metalsmithing experience is needed, only a willingness to create something beautiful together.
Please note: the historic mill building that houses the Figs & Ginger studio is currently not ADA accessible. We sincerely apologize and are actively working toward an alternative future location.
The Experience
Each Forged in Love experience is intentionally a little different, shaped around the couple themselves through an online form we'll send you to be answered before the ceremony. Because of this, portions of the experience are kept as a surprise, allowing the day to unfold in a way that feels personal, immersive, and unlike a traditional wedding timeline.
Guests are invited to settle into the studio atmosphere, bring favorite foods, desserts, or drinks to share, or just enjoy the tasty treats and beverages provided and let us take care of the rest while the space transforms for the celebration.
During the experience, loved ones are invited to participate in the creation of a collaborative forged wedding chain that becomes both a living part of the ceremony and a lasting heirloom created collectively by everyone present.
Meanwhile, couples gather at the jeweler’s bench to forge their own heirloom quality sterling silver wedding bands by hand using traditional metalsmithing techniques under the guidance of artist and metalsmith Rhonda Dudek.
The ceremony itself takes place over the very bench where the rings were made, hands resting above the tools, and memories created throughout the experience together.
Please note that Forged in Love takes place inside a real working artist studio housed within a historic industrial mill building. This is truly an alternative wedding option. Aprons, hammers, machinery, metal textures, studio sounds, and the occasional hum of the building are all part of the atmosphere and charm of the experience, offering something raw, creative, intimate, and beautifully imperfect in all the best ways.
